Oldsmobile Aurora P0410 and Hard to Start or Stalls

SECONDARY AIR PURGE CODE-P01410 AURORA 3.5V6...CAR STARTS HARD AFTER 3 CRANKS AT TIMES STARTS OK. THE TIMES WHEN IT IS HARD TO START (WHICH IS MOST OF THE TIME) THE CAR WILL IDLE HIGH FOR ONLY A FEW SECONDS,THEN SETTLES DOWN AND SEEMS TO RUN FINE. AT OTHER TIMES (RARITY)IT STARTS AND RUNS NORMAL.

Question: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON STAYS FOR 1 OR 2 DAYS THEN WILL GO OFF FOR A SHORT TIME BUT POPS BACK ON. TOOK TO AUTO ZONE IT SHOWS SECONDARY AIR PURGE PROBLEM. I`M TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT PART WILL FIX THE PROB. AND WHERE THE PART GOES.

Answer: Well, you have several problems. P410 is the A.I.R. system. Some common problems are the AIR pump itself has failed and blown 1 or more of the under hood fuse block fuses. It may have also burned the connector or ground at the pump motor. p442 is an EVAP leak that can be caused by filling gas tank with engine running, loose gas cap, or a leak somewhere in the system. The Hard start is probably not related to these. If you do not have any crankshaft position codes, then a likely cause is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. They leak fuel/vapor into the vacuum line and cause a rick condition that takes awhile go get cleared out. If you are not a technician, would suggest going to 1 because of the several different problems you are having.

Oldsmobile Aurora Won't Start

2001 Olds Aurora 3.5L. Won't start. When key is turned the serpentine spins. After tapping the starter, a cranking sound accompanied. Now there is a metallic clicking sound and still won't start. Full battery charge.

Answer: If you mean the engine wont turn over or spins erratically unless you tap the starter, and there is a metal sound, then it just sounds like the starter has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
