2003 Cavalier Bogs Down When Accelerating

2003 Chevy cavalier bogging on uphill pull. My 2003 chev cavalier started to power out on uphill. It seems fine on flat ground.i `ve replaced the air/fuel filters spark plugs last year the fuel pump. Someone says it might be the catalytic converter. Would this make the car bog out on hills?

Answer: There could be several causes for this problem with your car.

  • Engine misfire caused by corrodes bad spark plugs or ignition coils.
  • Low fuel pressure.
  • Plugged catalytic converter.
  • Depending on the engine, bad plug wires or ignition coil housing.

To test for a plugged you would need to have a back pressure test done, or unbolt the exhaust before the converter to see if it runs better.
