Problem with my 2006 Pontiac Montana Miniva.

What is the best method to remove the inside bottom cover of the tailgate on my 2006 Pontiac Minivan?  I put a dent in the rear tailgate just to the right and slightly below the license plate.  I was backing up when I hit a pickup with an extended trailer hitch, which I didn't see. I have gotten estimates to repair the damage, but the estimates seem to be way out of line for the small dent that is in the tailgate.

Answer: If you are referring to the plastic trim on the outside of the rear gate, it is either held on with retainer clips or two-faced tape that allow the panel to be popped of, or it is screwed in from inside the gate, and the interior panel will have to come off.

If this dent is in the actual metal of the door, then a body shop would need to fix that.
