2005 Monte Carlo Engine Light and Stalls

2005 Chevy Monte Carlo.
My 2005 Monte Carlo engine light keeps coming on after I've change all wires and plugs,it flutters and cuts off when I stop.what can I do?

Answer: first you need to get a scan of the computer to see what codes are stored. I would assume you have a P0300 misfire code, and that is the reason you replaced the spark plugs and plug wires. Did you also look closely at the ignition coils when you did that job?

If there is any corrosion on the coil towers this will also give you misfires and running rough. A few misfires usually won't cause the engine to stall. So maybe you have other codes stored. If it is just a few misfires, then you may have sticking fuel injectors. You should also check from vacuum leak since that would cause it to stall when coming to an idle. If it is just misfires, you need to determine which cylinders are having the problem. See if they are getting spark or not. If no spark on, let's say to cylinders, see if those two are fired from the same coil. If so, you could have a bad ignition coil or ignition module. The module under the three coils is what fires each coil individually. Again, we need to know what the codes are.

EVAP Canister Purge Valve Location

1996 Chevy Monte Carlo Engine Size : 3.4L DOHC. Question: Where is the EVAP purge canister valve located at on a 1996 Monte Carlo 3.4L DOHC engine.

Answer: If you lift off the plastic cover between the intake and front valve cover, you will see it attached to a small bracket right there in the open. Very easy to change. Just be careful of brittle vacuum lines and hoses and electrical connectors, as you have an older vehicle. If it set a code, and that's why your replacing it, be sure to clear the codes after installation of the new part.

The EVAP canister is located inside the drivers side rear wheel well. You will need to remove the large plastic liner. It is behind the rear wheel.
