2002 Blazer 4.3L Vortec Hesitates and Dies Out

2002 Chevy blazer 2 door 4wheel drive. V6 Vortec 4.3litre.

Question: Hi there i just had the fuel pump replaced and fuel filter and coil wire they say they replaced and checked codes, it starts which is good cause the fuel pump just finally died. Once i have it started it may run a for a few minute or less and when i start going somewhere it still doing the hesitation.

When i slow down and then start to go again either straight or going around a corner sometimes it feels like it might stall or something. After awhile of driving it doesn't seem to do it anymore, so whats up with that could it be the fuel injectors.

Answer: It sounds like you are describing an engine misfire. A scan of computer codes should have showed a P0300 or similar. Bad spark plug wires are a common cause for that. Slowing down and it wants to stall may be several things though. You could have a vacuum leak, carbon buildup in the throttle body. Plugged fuel injectors are also a common problem on this engine. Many times they will not set a check engine light or codes. I would suggest checking the plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and have a fuel injector cleaning service done. If these basic things do not help, an experienced mechanic is going to need to drive it with a scanner to evaluate your condition.

Engine hesitates on Acceleration

HI I have a 1996 Corvette engine installed in a 56 Chevy. The problem I am having is the engine runs rough at idle and stalls on acceleration. I changed the injectors, Idleling is good, but hesitates on acceleration.

Answer: Hesitation on acceleration is usually caused by an ignition problem. Check spark plugs, plug wires, ignition coil.
