Engine light stays on.
Question = engine light stays on, if I floor it light blinks then stays on again. is there something wrong?

Answer: Yes, there absolutely is something wrong. Anytime the check engine light is on, there is a code(s) stored in the computer that is related to what part of the emissions system is having a problem.

A scan of the codes is needed. Many of the large national parts store chains will do this for free. When the check engine light is flashing, it means that the engine is misfiring so badly that catalytic converter damage may occur. During acceleration, there is a heavy electrical load on the ignition system. I should suspect that you either have a bad spark plug, plug wire or ignition coil. This would explain the check engine light being on and flashing. A computer scan would most likely show a code like P0300 - misfire, and will show what cylinder is doing it.
