2002 Chevy S-10 Engine Light Code P0446 EVAP Vent Valve

2002 Chev S-10 4X4. 190 HP Vortec 4300 V6 SFI Eng. Question: The engine light comes on and when I read the code I get P0446. What is that code.

Answer: Code P0446 is a problem in the evaporative emissions system (EVAP) Vent Valve. The valve is either not functioning because it is faulty, there is a wiring problem to the valve

, or the fuel tank pressure sensor is giving a false reading so the computer thinks the valve has a problem. Only way to be sure without guessing at a vent valve is to get a test on it's electrical connector and check for power in and ground when activating it with a scanner that can control the system. Also look at the fuel tank pressure sensor to check its readings. Most of the time it is vent valve that is faulty. It is located up under the spare tire. One connector and a black pipe / hose.

'03 s-10 4.3 6 cyl starts for a few seconds and quits, fuel pressure 20 psi goes to 50 psi after several attempts to start and takes 10 minutes to come back to 20 psi when turning off ign. P0336 code Evap emission vent and rich to lien cylinders 1=.42, 2= ,42, 3=.20, 4= .60, 5= .00, 6= .00 frustrated, Any suggestions???
