2002 Chevy Camaro Ignition Binds After Steering Column Work

2002 CHEVY CAMARO LS1 AUTO.
Question: 2002 CAMARO, INSTALLED NEW TURN SIGNAL CAM, THERE WAS A LOT OF PLAY IN COLUMN, SO I TIGHTENED EVERYTHING, WHEN I STARTED FIRST TO TIMES KEY WENT IN AN OUT OK, WHEN YOU TURN TO START SEEMS TIGHT, NOT ENOUGH YOU NEED TO FORCE, BUT SNUG, WORKED OK FOR A DAY.

LAST NIGHT SHUT OFF, WENT TO START AN THAT SOLENOID SEEMED TO STAY ACTIVE.. TURNED KEY BACK IT STILL STAYED ACTIVE, EVEN MOVED THE TILT.. DID I OVER TIGHTEN SOMETHING. THE STARTER HAS BEEN IN FOR 4 MONTHS MSD LS1 STARTER.. NO GRINDS.. AWESOME STARTS.. NOW I NEED TO REBUILD AN HOPE THE FLYWHEELS OK.

Answer: There is really nothing you could have overtightened to cause the ignition to stick or bind. Something in the ignition switch could be binding, although you did not go that far down into the column for that. It si possible that the center bearing or inner race is off center and when you tightened it down that is binding. Suggest taking back aart and working the ignition as you loosen each component to see which is the culprit.
