I have done and checked everything that I can think of!!

Was the coolant low after the last time it overheated?

You could possibly have a water pump that is starting to go bad, it can't keep up with higher speed sooner or later it will give up all together.

Good thought Sam. That water pump going bad is possible.Sam wrote:You could possibly have a water pump that is starting to go bad, it can't keep up with higher speed sooner or later it will give up all together.
06 F150 Fuel Pump
I have a 2006 F150 and changed the fuel pump because of spittin and sputtering. After the new pump was put in I filled my tank and when I cranked my truck the gas gauge went to empty and the fuel light came on. I have replaced the pump a second time and the same thing is happening. After cranking or diving my truck six or seven times the needle goes back to full and works normally. What could be wrong????
Re: 06 F150 Fuel Pump
This is a\ common problem of a bad fuel level sensor. This sensor is in the gas tank and is attached to the fuel pump module assembly. Most likely the new fuel pump did not come with the sensor, or if it did, you damaged it or the float arm. It is possible the float arm is sticking on something inside the tank, or even the wiring is damaged.
You are going to need to remove the pump module assembly and look closely at the level sensor, float arm and wiring.
